Labels Matter. Don’t Be Fooled.

Fighting For Life

We all recognize the fear and other factors that guide some pregnant mothers toward abortion. With understanding, pro-life (“for life”) folks try to educate, encourage, and point her toward hope, love, help, and healthy guidance as they encourage her to nurture and at least not harm her baby. Why do people who are pro-life fight so hard against abortion? Because abortion, at any point, IS killing an innocent human life. That is not arguable. And it’s a fact that should disturb and shake up everyone. If you understand and admit that life begins at conception, you can better discern what is fueling the people on both sides of the issue. If you don’t believe life begins at conception, then watch the video below to better understand why human life is human life from the very beginning. Let’s dig a little deeper into why abortion supporters continue pushing their agenda. And, by the way, what is their real agenda?

Fighting Against Life

Let’s ask ourselves – Why, even with the knowledge that they are killing a baby (and abortion influencers do know), do abortion supporters continue pushing, funding, and encouraging abortions? What makes them rejoice or take a sigh of relief when a baby is killed? Abortion supporters fight under the banner of women’s rights, even though there is nothing liberating or right or good for the woman about killing her child. They prefer to be labeled and perceived as “pro-choice,” because it sounds much more appealing than calling themselves “pro-abortion,” “anti-life,” “pro-killing-innocent-people,” or “pro-emotional-scarring-and-guilt.” Isn’t it convenient for abortion supporters, since the women’s rights movement is a platform that the culture applauds, that unwanted pregnancies take place inside a woman? Also, notice that they use the term pregnant “woman” rather than pregnant “mother.” And they certainly don’t nod to science and morality by referring to her as a “mother who is carrying her baby.” And no longer do we hear the phrase, “She is with child.” Even many who are pro-life have adopted impersonal terms and phrases as acceptable and even preferred without realizing the stripping of truth that is taking place.

Fighting for Self

So, if abortion supports aren’t really fighting for women’s rights, for what are they fighting? I have no problem stating that they are fighting for themselves. They are feeding their own selfish and corrupt nature. They choose their labels carefully, so they can fool even themselves into believing that THEY have control, are superior, and don’t have to answer to anyone, including and especially God. By making abortion sound acceptable, they feed their own sense of power, freedom from absolutes, and spiritual independence. After all, if you can kill a baby and not only get away with it but be praised for it, what can’t you do?

Consider the following statements, which have the same meanings, but cause different emotional responses.

1) “I know that going through this as a woman is frightening, but the embyo is not your enemy. Please don’t have an abortion.”

2) “I know that being a mother feels frightening, but your baby needs you. Please don’t let your child be killed.”

In the Real World

I hurt for the confused and frightened pregnant mothers who needed help and guidance long before this moment, and who are now struggling with what the future holds, but do not have anyone supporting them and their baby. Also, to those who have had an abortion or encouraged an abortion and feel the sadness and weight of what happened, I trust that you would rather abortions be stopped than that we should be quiet in an effort to not stir up your hurt. I pray for your emotional healing as the Lord extends His love and restoration to you. I applaud all the programs and ministries and people who give of their time, love, and resources to make a difference in the lives of these women and their precious babies. And I pray against those authorities, principalities, and powers that seek to steal the truth, to kill innocent people, and to destroy souls.

Satan’s message is one of fear, shame, pressure, and self-centeredness.
God’s message is one of love, hope, support, and care.

When you look closely, it’s pretty easy to tell the difference.
