To the Young Ladies
You Are Special – I don’t know how many teenage girls read my blog…but in case you are one of them, I just want to let you know that you are very special. You know, we can’t control who our parents are or which school we attend or how tall we grow, but there is something very precious that we can control – our purity.
The Truth – Our culture doesn’t just say that being innocent is unpopular – it says that being innocent is embarassing and to be avoided at all costs. May I just say that this idea is not only ridiculous, but it is a complete lie. Purity and innocence is absolutely beautiful, it is desirable, and it is a treasure.
Under Pressure – When you feel your friends or maybe even adults pressuring you to be like everyone else, just remember something that a youth pastor told me and I never forgot – “You can always become like them… but they can never be like you.” When someone chooses to step out of the world of purity and into the world of “acceptance,” they are changed.
Your Choice – If you have made mistakes, know that God offers forgiveness when we ask Him. He forgives our sin and then gives us instruction and strength to not do it anymore. Remember, these crazy years will pass by quickly. It’s scary being a teenager, but it’s exciting, too. So enjoy it, and be strong. Don’t live for your buddies…live for your future – your future husband, children, career, and happiness. Live for you. Live for Christ.
“‘For I know the plans I have for you,’ declares the Lord, ‘plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'” – Jeremiah 29:11

Amen and Amen. Also true…everything you said also applies to the guys, and they probably get even less encouragement to be pure. Thanks for encouraging the young ladies (and young men); I know they appreciate receiving it from you.
