A Resting Place
You know, just as it felt wonderful and right for Landon to rest in my arms, it also feels wonderful and right when we rest in the Lord. Sometimes life is a whirlwind of uncertainty and upsetting experiences, but while our brain is scrambling, our heart is torn, and our body is exhausted, we can still know what it is to rest in the Lord. Our spirit can still be rejuvenated day by day. And while our circumstances are causing us to feel frantic or drained, we can still find sweet rest in the Father’s arms. Spiritually resting in Him brings the greatest sanity and strength to the rest of our physical being.
Resting means rejuvenation, but it also means taking a break from everything else. When we spend time one-on-one with God, by praying and reading and meditating on His Word – the Bible, then our whole being, soul, mind, and body, are taking a break from our situation and we are getting sweet, necessary rest. Thank you, Lord, that we can rest in you.
this is excellent, Kim! I really enjoyed this as it reminded me of some posts i did awhile back about resting in Him. It has been a wonderful weekend for time in the Lord and I trust for you too! in fact…it is the time of day where I'm about to bring my Bible, journal, small group study and coffee out to the deck and "rest" in Him! blessings to you! (your baby boy is just adorable in the pic!)
