Do You Love Me?
Think of a person who you love more than anything. Now imagine that person asking you, “Do you love me?” How would you reply?
I was asked this question today on a quiet evening walk around the neighborhood, when my three year old daughter softly asked, “Mommy, do you love me every day?” My heart-felt reply was, “I love you every day, every moment, for as long as I live.”
Have you ever wondered, “Does God love me?” I want to assure you that just as you know the immense love you have for that special person you thought of at the beginning of this post, God loves you immensely – even more than you are capable of loving. So if you wonder, “Does God love me?” I can tell you, no matter who you happen to be, reader, that God does love you – with an amazing and everlasting love. You can imagine Him saying to you, “I love you every day, every moment. I gave my one and only Son so that you can know me, know life, know eternal life, because I love you that much. Oh yes, I love you.”
1 John 4:9,10
“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.”
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.”
When I pray for my youngest daughter each nite, as I tuck her into bed, I always remind her "Claire, you are loved by God Himself even more than Daddy and I love you….and that's a BIG love!!"…it's so hard for our minds to wrap around but I can't imagine living thru this life and not believing that….a PERSONAL, LOVING GOD!! Happy Easter to you and your precious family…such adorable children!! love the pics!
Thanks, Faith. I say something similar to my children after tucking them into bed… I say, "Mommy loves you. And Daddy loves you. And Jesus loves you most of all."
Precious pictures, Kimberly! Your little ones are beautiful! I also recognize that quote! We have the same bedtime story book! 🙂
We always lay our hands on our children and pray for them before they sleep and then we give them big "squishes" and tell them that we love them. We sometimes even do it to our older children (13-22!) 😀
In the morning, as they get up and come down for breakfast, I call them over for my "morning hug". It is a great way to start the day out and they look forward to it and expect it…we are rich…
