Cover Up or Clear Up?
When I hit the teenage years, embarrassing acne hit me, so my mom showed me how to apply foundation and powder to help cover my blemishes. In the same way, I have faults and problems in my life that are unattractive, and the Lord has the solution. Only He doesn’t “cover up” my faults…He “clears them up”. Why do we so often live with spiritual blemishes, when we don’t have to? Why do we prefer to exist with an unattractive spirit, rather than live with a beautiful spirit? Not only do we not have to remain in a blemished condition, but God expects us to let Him clear us up and make us right.
“Therefore we are confident and know that as long as we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord. We live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord. So we make it our goal to please Him…” 2 Corinthians 5:6-9
It’s time for a spiritual makeover. It’s time to let God make us beautiful as only He can. The steps for a spiritual makeover are much like those you would expect for a physical makeover…just follow the ABC’s.
Arrive at the makeover session
Go before the Lord for help
Be aware of what your faults and flaws are

Concede to the person giving you the makeover
Give up control, and let God have His way
Don’t quit in the process
Remain strong through the change
Exercise what you learned
Apply God’s Word and His plan for you
Kimberly,
That is so true about the need to let Jesus make us over. There is no need to hide when you let Him lead your life. That was a wonderful article and I will check back often to read future articles. Great Job! I am proud of you and the person you have become.
