Child’s Recipe Book

Ava loves pretend cooking in her little kitchen. Suddenly, I realized that it would be perfect for her to have her very own Recipe Book. So we got to work! Ava cut out magazine pictures of foods that interested her, and then she glued them onto 4×6 index cards. I wrote the title at the top and then she wrote the recipe below. This was really fun and it is an ongoing project as there are many more slots left in our book that need to be filled with yummy recipes. Our book is a photo album purchased for about $1 from Walmart or Dollar Tree. This idea is great for older kids to keep their favorite recipes in, as well. The photo album’s pages make it easy to wipe off grease and spattered food! In fact, I keep my own recipes in clear sheet protectors in a binder for that very reason!

My 3 year old loves to help out in the kitchen too, so this would be great for the play kitchen AND real kitchen. Thanks for sharing the idea!
